British & LDS Church History with The Freedom of Religion or Belief Foundation in the UK – Bountiful Travel

The FoRB Foundation has partnered with Bountiful Travel, a tour operator who has spent years developing relationships with amazing LDS speakers and authorities throughout the world to provide unforgettable and uplifting travel experiences.  Our tour will be led by Matthew and Julie Jones, co-Founders of The FoRB Foundation and by nineteenth-century British, religious, and LDS historian, Kristine Frederickson, a Director of the Interpreter Foundation.  Travelers will experience a two-part tour that will provide a unique visit to the UK. Even if you are an experienced anglophile, this tour will give you opportunities to focus on lesser visited highlights in London, on the FoRB work occurring in the UK Parliament, and on the religious, political and social conditions in nineteenth century England that led to and produced “seekers” after the truths found in the restored gospel of The Chruch of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. In addition, your participation in this special tour will directly support the work of The Freedom of Religion or Belief (FoRB) Foundation (a 501c3 nonprofit and a registered UK Charity.)

Our tour will start outside the capital as we visit important British History sights in Bath, founded by the Romans in the first century A.D. and then developed into one of the most fashionable places to live in the 18th century. Famed authors Jane Austen and Mary Shelly called Bath home. In Bath we will have a dinner program and talk from Elder Martin G. Turvey Europe North Area Seventy and Bath resident. The next day we travel on to Church historical sites, among them those in South Wales. We move on to Gloucester to the Gadfield Elm Chapel and Benbow Farm, all locales where missionaries converted many to the restored gospel. We go on to visit 19th-century villages in the Cotswold’s before stopping in Oxford to tour and attend a special Anglican Evensong Service in Oxfords Pembroke College Chapel, led by the Reverend Doctor Andrew Teal. Along the way there will be fascinating insights, sumptuous gardens, historic churches, and picture-perfect villages and memory making experiences.

The second part of our tour will be five days in London, which will provide an unforgettable insider’s experience as you privately tour the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abby, and visit “hidden gem” museums.  In the evenings, we will curate the best performances in London and offer optional tickets to tour participants for small group theatre and music experiences.  In Parliament’s Portcullis House, guest lecturers will review the UK’s current role as a leading advocate for International Religious Freedom and Human Rights. Your attendance will result in a unique understanding of the International Religious Liberty movement from the perspectives of staff, MPs and other officials currently working with the UK APPG for International Freedom of Religion or Belief. Note that the FoRB Foundation and the APPG IFRB both exist to raise awareness, recover rights, and rebuild lives of those impacted by FoRB violations around the world.  As The FoRB Foundation funds this important work, a modest portion of your tour price will be a direct donation to The FoRB Foundation, (a 501c3 nonprofit and a registered UK Charity.) Donor documents will be issued for your tax reporting purposes.
