Deb Barry (Trustee)

Deb Barry is a humanitarian and leadership consultant with over 30 years of global experience in humanitarian work, youth and child protection, and leadership development. Her extensive career includes more than two decades with Save the Children, where she held senior management roles and was stationed in diverse regions worldwide.

As an independent senior humanitarian and leadership consultant, Deb has collaborated with international governments, INGOs, and UN agencies on child protection and youth inclusion. She excels in evaluating programs, delivering capability training, and energizing teams. Her expertise includes developing international training programs and policies on leadership in humanitarian crises, team building, youth-led advocacy, protection, and child rights for NGOs, governments, and military groups.

In her role as a Trustee of the FoRB Foundation, Deb contributes her extensive humanitarian experience to promote and protect freedom of religion or belief worldwide.

Deb’s commitment to humanitarian causes is further exemplified by her role as Head of Learning & Capability (Interim) at the Humanitarian Leadership Academy, where she leads initiatives to enhance leadership capabilities within the humanitarian sector.

Throughout her career, Deb has demonstrated unwavering dedication to improving the lives of vulnerable populations, particularly children and youth, in crisis situations. Her leadership and expertise continue to inspire and drive positive change in the humanitarian field.
