Welcome to the Team: Anna Shannon

We are delighted to welcome Anna Shannon as the new Parliamentary Officer for the APPG for Freedom of Religion or Belief.

Anna is employed by the FoRB Foundation and seconded to the APPG FoRB, strengthening the close partnership between the two organisations. In her role, she will be supporting parliamentary engagement, research, and advocacy on behalf of the APPG.

She brings with her a strong background in parliamentary work, policy advocacy, and event organisation. Anna has experience drafting speeches, parliamentary questions, and policy briefings, as well as coordinating meetings and inquiries involving MPs, peers, NGOs, and international delegations.

With excellent writing and communication skills, Anna is adept at presenting complex issues clearly and persuasively. Her professional journey reflects a deep commitment to human rights and Freedom of Religion or Belief, alongside a strong awareness of the political landscape in the UK and internationally.

Anna is passionate about advancing Article 18 rights and has worked across diverse political and cultural contexts with diplomacy and sensitivity. Her ability to manage multiple priorities, build stakeholder relationships, and contribute creatively to advocacy strategies makes her an invaluable addition to the APPG team.

We are excited to have Anna on board and look forward to the energy, expertise, and dedication she will bring to our work in Parliament and beyond.
